mr. Janja Milković
M.Sc. Janja Milković has finished elementary and secondary school in Zagreb. In 1975 she has graduated from Faculty of Natural Science at Zagreb University. In 1983 she got the M.Sc. degree at Postgraduate Study of Natural Sciences, University of Zagreb, and M.Sc. theses was entitled Statistical Methods for Studies Meteorological Fields for the Purpose of Stations Rationalisation.
Her affiliation since 1 June 1975 has been at Meteorological and Hydrological Service in the Climatological Department. In the period 1993–2001 she worked as a head of the Precipitation Research Department and since 2001 as a head of the Data Processing Department.
She participated in several scientific projects supported by Croatian Ministry of Science: Investigation of weather and climate over the territory of Croatia, Monitoring of climate over Croatia and was involved in the research projects of correction of precipitation measurements. In the period 1986–1993 she was a member of the Organising Committee for the WMO Solid Precipitation Measurement Intercomparison as well as a co-ordinator for such measurements in Croatia.
She participated as a member of the Scientific or Organising Committee for several conferences (First and Second Conference of Water, 100 years of meteorological measurement at Palagruža etc).
From 1986 to 1990 she was a secretary of Croatian Meteorological Society (CMS), and from 1990 do 1998 she was a president of CMS.
In the period 1994–1998 she was a chief editor of the Croatian Meteorological Journal.
From 1994 to 1998 she was a member of presidency of the Natural Friends Movement Our Beautiful Homeland.
Since 1995 she participates in implementation of GLOBE Program and she is a member of State Commission for the GLOBE Program in Croatia.
In the period 1996–2000 she was a member of several Commissions for air quality control and environmental protection as well as implementation of Montreal’s protocol in Croatia
She is one of the co-author of the program for education meteorological technician, which started in 2000, in the Forestry School in Karlovac.
