dr. Nadežda Šinik
Prof. D.Sc. Nadežda Šinik was born in 1932. She attended high school at Zagreb, where she also accomplished the study of geophysics at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Here she obtained her master and doctor's degree with thesis in the domain of climatic fluctuations. Besides active participations on numerous domestic and international meteorological conferences she spent several months of postgraduate studies in dynamic meteorology at UCLA, USA, then in relevant scientific institutes in Petrograd, Russia and Vienna, Austria. More than twenty years (up to 1985) she was employed in the meteorological service of Croatia completing research in various projects of applied meteorology, particularly in modelling of transport and diffusion of pollutants. Then she took a place of a professor of dynamic meteorology at Geophysical department of Faculty of Science at Zagreb University, where she also performed the duty of the department chief during the period 1994/95 to 1995/96. After retirement in 1999. she continues with lecturing and research, particularly in the chaos theory applications in the meteorology
